Artist Statement:
"Paint what you see, not what you think you see" are words that I live by. I also believe that if I am drawn to a particular scene, this emotion will be reflected in the painting.
I paint mainly waterscapes, landscapes and still lifes. As a studio painter, I shoot many photos that I can refer to. This allows me to work on a number of paintings simultaneously and to have "fresh eyes" when returning to a piece.
I was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and attended the University of Michigan, where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Design. Presently, I reside in Birmingham, Michigan. My interest in art started at an early age. As a first grader, my piece was selected to be in a student exhibition at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
I am also available on a commission basis.
